Week 10/28/19-10/30/19

SPANISH 2:

    • Homework due Monday, 11/4/19: 
      • HANDOUT: 
        • DO page 2, ejercicio 8 with conjugations of tener
        •        page 3, ejercicio 17 with possessive adjectives
        • then read the paragraph below on "Apellidos Hispanicos" 
          • answer the questions for the ejercicio below it (#1-4)
          • and complete Actividades #3 to its right about YOUR family tree using the Hispanic system
        • Finish the Conversacion on the last page that was started in class 
    • Homework due Wednesday, 10/30/19:

        • DO page 60, section 2, #1-4
        • DO page 61, section 4, #1-10

    SPANISH 1:

          • This is about the conversation we read in class on page 40.
        • READ page 42 about "Amigos Latinos en Estados Unidos"
          • You will NOT understand every word. You should read this trying to understand as much as you can on your own to get a feeling for the overall information, only looking up the occasional word. Please do not just retype it into Google Translate. Then try to answer the questions below:
        • DO questions about the reading on page 43, section A, #1-5 
        •        and on page 47, section 8, #1-4
        • DO page 39, section 18. You will be using a variety of words to complete the paragraph (some are just articles and others may be verbs or adjectives). 
          • You will begin this exercise by trying to figure out the words in Spanish that you are given (translate), filling in the blanks with words that would make the paragraph make sense. 
    • Homework due Wednesday, 10/30/19: 
        • BOOK: 
          • DO page 38, section 17 (You will make 6 sentences for the verb "ser")
          • Complete the exercise again making 6 sentences but using the verb estar with the adjectives as follows:
            • Use each once:

            • Pick the correct form of estar for the subject:
              • estamos

              • están
              • estoy
              • está
            • Choose an adjective and make sure it matches in gender/number:

              • perezoso
        • Answer the following questions choosing the correct verb (ser or estar), its conjugation and the appropriate adjective(s): (Please just form simple sentences using words we are learning. You should not need to use dictionary/translate app for anything other than word(s) for a profession.)
          • Where is your father or mother's profession?
          • What is your pet like?
          • Where is your family from?
          • What is your sibling or cousin like?
          • Who is your favorite relative?
          • Where do your grandparents live?
