Week 1/27/20-1/29/20

SPANISH 2:

    • Homework due Monday, 2/3/20: 
      • Practice Direct Object Pronouns
        • For each sentence, find the direct object noun, underline it, then write the direct object pronoun that would replace it: (You need to know what the sentence means)
          • Yo tengo la camisa en mi casa.
          • ¿Necesitas el coche?
          • Escuchamos el radio.
          • Yo doy el libro a Maria.
          • ¿Ven ustedes a las muchachas?
          • El medico examina el pie.
          • Maria lea libros mucho.
          • Ellos beben su leche.
          • El estudiante necesita su calculadora.
          • Jugamos basquetbol cuando tengo tiempo. (pay attention!)
        • Now re-write the sentences above using direct object pronouns (correct placement) and make sure to pay attention to verb conjugations if they change when answering questions.
      • Now, translate each sentence to Spanish using a direct object pronoun for the nouns:
        • I do not watch the television.
        • You all study the maps.
        • We eat the vegetables.
        • My brother looks for me.
        • The teacher needs you.
      • Study: Vocabulary Chapters 5 & 6, clothing, body parts & animals from handout, Ch. 5 stem-changing verbs, gustar/interesar/aburrir, and direct object pronouns.

          • Ella visita a su hijo.

            • Study: Chapters 2 & 3, clothing, body parts & animals from handout, tener, possessive adjectives, ir/dar/estar, contractions (al & del) with the following prepositions as mentioned in class: BTW, some were on page 63 (yellow box)
              • delante de (in front of)
              • detrás de (behind)
              • alrededor de (around)
              • dentro de (inside)
              • fuera de (outside)
              • encima de (above)
              • debajo de (below)
              • cerca de (near)
              • lejos de (far).

          Week 1/13/20-1/15/20

          SPANISH 2:

            • Homework due Wednesday, 1/22/20: There is no class on Monday.
              • Write: a paragraph (8-10 sentences) describing a SICK visit to the doctor. Be creative but within school rules. Include the following:
                • reason(s) for the visit
                • symptoms you are having
                • the physical exam (what the doctor would check and the FINDINGS)
                • how the visit ends (prescription, ER, referral, etc...)
                • DO NOT COPY pages 200-201
              • Practice: If you missed more than 2 from the top section of the quiz (#1-10 the verb conjugations), write each of the stem-changing verbs 3 TIMES on the verb sheet given in class:
                • pg. 170: empezar, pensar, perder, querer, perferir
                • pg. 172: poder, volver, devolver, dormir, jugar
              • List: for each of the FOUR seasons, 3 pieces of typical clothing worn and where on the body it is worn. Choose different people (subjects) as below, so you use ALL conjugations of "llevar". Each sentence should also use a possessive adjective. Follow the format as below for PRESENT TENSE verbs (except you will write it in Spanish):
                • Ex: During winter, you wear mittens on your hands.
                • Ex: In the summer, I wear my bathing suit.
                • Ex: In the fall, we wear our coats.
              • Study: begin to learn the clothing, body parts & animals from the handout given in class.
            • Homework due Wednesday, 1/15/20:
