COVID packet #2

Attention ALL STUDENTS:

  • For students who currently have a failing grade in Spanish, you will need to complete the packet for either Spanish 1 or Spanish 2 below. 
  • If you currently are passing Spanish and wish to improve your grade, you are welcome to complete the packet below. If you are passing and WILL BE completing the packet, please inform me via email at: eclagg@alumni.wvsom.edu. 
  • If you are passing and are pleased with your grade, you do not need to complete additional work. If you are passing and WILL NOT be completing the packet, please inform me via email at: eclagg@alumni.wvsom.edu.

SPANISH 2:

    • We are going to head into Chapter 8: En tu tiempo libre
      • In this chapter, we will be learning vocabulary for activities in your free time as well as practicing more with preterite verb endings for -er & -ir verbs. 
      • You will need make sure and learn the vocabulary on pages 266-267 and 270-271.
      • You should already know the preterite (past tense) verb endings for -ar verbs from previous chapter.   
        • Here is the video that explains "preterite" tense that was in the last packet, only now you need to watch the entire video as it also includes info about -er & -ir verbs.
        • You can read about -er & -ir verb conjugation endings for past tense verbs on page 274. Notice the accent marks and make note that they are NOT optional but change the meaning of the word. I have mentioned this is the case in certain circumstances and this is one of them. 
        • On page 277, you will see the preterite tense for the verbs "oír" & "leer". 
        • On page 278, you will see several words that were mentioned prior to school being closed: algo, nada, alguien, nadie, siempre, nunca. You will need to learn the meaning/differences between these. 
    • Book:
      • READ pages 266-267 and 270-271. Familiarize yourself with the vocabulary.
      • DO page 268, Section 2 #1-6
      •        page 272, Section 2 #1-5
      •                        Section 3 #1-6
      •        page 273, Section 4 #1-6
      • READ page 274 and learn the -er and -ir verb endings for preterite tense.  
      • DO page 275, Section 2 #1-7
      •        page 276, Section 4 #1-11
      •                        Section 5 - PAY ATTENTION!
      • READ top of Page 277, and DO Section 7 #1-5 & Section 8 #1-4 AND expansion
      • READ top of Page 278, and DO Section 9 #1-6
      •                        page 287, Section 3 #16-28
      •                                        Section 4 #29-35.
      • READ page 282, and DO answer questions about the reading on page 283, Sections A-D and page 287, Section 5 #36-40. 
    • Please make sure to continue to check the blog moving forward as I will continue to update the material due depending on how long school remains closed.

      SPANISH 1:

        • We are going to head into Chapter 4: ¿Qué comemos y dónde? (My favorite chapter!)
          • In this chapter, we will be learning vocabulary for many types of food and drink, as well as words used in a restaurant. 
          • You will need make sure and learn the vocabulary on pages 128-129 and 132-133.
          • This chapter also goes over the conjugations for -er & -ir verbs, which you should already know. Make sure to know the meanings of the bold print verbs on page 136
            • Here is a video that while it is long has a great inclusion of many of the words I would have gone over with you in class. So, experiment learning and using these words throughout your day and when doing the exercises below.
            • An optional BONUS activity since we are not going to be able to do our "Restaurant Skit" activity, is to do one on your own. If you are interested in this BONUS, please let me know by emailing me at: eclagg@alumni.wvsom.edu.
        • Book:
          • READ pages 128-129 and 132-133. Familiarize yourself with the vocabulary.
          • DO page 130, Section 2 #1-4
