Week 9/2/19 (LABOR DAY) - 9/4/19:

MAKE SURE TO SCROLL TO THE CORRECT WEEK AS I HAVE POSTED THE WORK AHEAD THROUGH 9/9/19 BELOW.

SPANISH 2:

  • FOR MONDAY, 9/9:
    • On pg. 11, do section 3, (write the dates shown on the 3 calendars). Section 4, #1-3 (Make sure to read the "Nota" yellow box).
    • Read pp. 14-15 on seasons and weather.
    • Answer: What is your favorite season and what is the weather like for that season (in Spanish)?
    • Continue to study counting!

SPANISH 1:

  • FOR MONDAY, 9/9:
    • Continue to study counting on pg. 8, making sure to notice the patterns discussed in class for numbers 16-19 & 21-29. Then notice how after 30, the pattern is similar each time it starts 31-39, 41-49, 51-59, and so on up to 99.
    • On pg. 8, section 1, you are to count by tens from 10-100. Write these numbers down. Also, section 2, #1-8.
    • Answer: What is your favorite Spanish word you have learned so far and why?

Week 8/26/19 - 8/28/19 - Welcome Back!

SPANISH 2:

  • DUE WEDNESDAY, 9/4 (Labor Day Holiday Monday, 9/2):
    • Make sure you are studying counting on pg. 8; plus days of the week & months of the year on pg. 10. (Note cards work well for this. Also remember my Quizlet link at the top right of this blog.)
      • Remember days of the week and months of the year are not capitalized. Also, the Spanish week starts on Monday. 
      • For counting, make sure notice the patterns discussed in class for numbers 16-19 & 21-29. Then notice how after 30, the pattern is similar each time it starts 31-39, 41-49, 51-59, and so on up to 99.
    • Write (not say) the numbers listed on pg. 8, section 2, #1-8; & on pg. 9, section 5, #1-9, you do not have to write questions, only write the numbers in Spanish.
    • Do page 8, section 3, #1-4. 
  • DUE WEDNESDAY, 8/28:
    • Read pp. 8-11 on counting, days of the week and months of the year. Make sure to refresh these concepts.
    • Answer the following: What would you say in the following situations?
      • You encounter your instructor in the morning and ask how he or she is.
      • In the grocery store, you run into a friend you haven't seen for a while.
      • You meet a friend's five-year-old daughter in the park and ask how she is.
      • You meet an older person and want to know his or her name.
      • Someone asks what's new with you.

      • Counting is a concept that we will be going over in more depth the following week. At this point, I am wanting you to begin to familiarize yourself with the list on page 8 for repetition. You may also benefit making note cards.
    • Don't forget to study greetings, farewells & courtesy!
  • DUE WEDNESDAY, 8/28:
    • Read pp. 2-7 on greetings, farewells, and courtesy. Begin learning the vocabulary presented today. It will also be used for the questions below.
    • Answer the following: What would you say in the following situations?
      • You encounter your instructor in the morning and ask how he or she is.
      • Someone asks how you are. You are not feeling well.
